If you have never heard of Sailun Tyres no worries, you are not alone. However, this is about to change... trust us. Not many have noticed that over the last 19 years, Sailun Tyres has quietly been making a name for itself even in Australia. Sailun was established in 2001 in China by Mesnac, a rubber equipment company that makes the machines used by other tyre manufacturers. Value for Money

Sailun Tyres has grown as a tyre brand due to the budget-minded consumer looking for value-priced tyres that performs well in various driving situations. In a series of blind tests (brand names were buffed out), Sailun tyres held their own against more expensive value tyre models from the big brands. The professional drivers were not able to tell the difference, showing that Sailun tyre quality (at this value segment), is at par, making it a competent value for money brand.

Research & Development

Sailun has made significant progress in the industry despite its short history. It invests over 30 percent of resources in research and development and has helped establish the National Tyre Process and Engineering Technology Research Centre in China to wncourage the continued development of new tyre technology. It has also created some of the best tyre production machinery in the world and is continually updating and upgrading its facilities with the most advanced equipment possible. Chinese tyre companies are, admittedly, not the top dogs in the industry, but Sailun is clearly fighting to get a piece of the Australian pie.

Quality Assurance

Sailun regards quality assurance to be extremely important, and we love that! All aspects of the production line undergo quality checks, from the raw rubber and machines used, up to the finished product. All tyres undergo a final inspection to make sure they meet international safety standards and customer expectations. Sailun's advanced tracking system records the status of each tyre produced from the beginning of production, right up until delivery to the customer.

Sailun's Environmentally-Friendly Technology (EFT) Programme highlights its commitment to minimising the environmental impact of their tyres. All Sailun tyres designated as EFT offer lower rolling resistance and reduced fuel costs. Sailun EFT tyres have also gained approval from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) as part of the SmartWay Verified Technologies scheme which helps companies improve fuel efficiency and save money. SmartWay Verified tyres could reduce NOx emissions and fuel use by over 3 percent.

Academic Partnerships

Sailun believes in the future of tyre development and closely collaborates with various educational institutions to develop and improve formulation techniques, tyre structure, tyre testing methods, and information technology. It has formed a partnership with China Qingdao University of Science and Technology, which has the only engineering program specializing and focused solely on rubber technologies in the world. These partnerships allow Sailun access to the best tyre and rubber engineers that continue to enhance tyre tech.

International Accreditations

Sailun has some of the most stringent tyre inspection processes which they continuously implement to obtain Australian and international standard and quality accreditation and certifications. Some of these include ISO9001 Quality Management; ISO14001 Environmental Management; ISO/TS16949 Quality Management; United States Department of Transportation (DOT) Certification and the E-Mark Certification from the Economic Commission for Europe (ECE). Sailun's factories 4 in China and 1 in Vietnam produces over 30 million tyres for several various applications such as passenger cars, SUVs, light and medium radial truck, and off-the-road tyres for all major markets - the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Building Industry Partnerships

Sailuns 2nd tyre factory located in Vietnam began producing its first Truck and Bus Radial (TBR) Tyre in 2016. Investing over $200M US, the plant now produces 1.2 million TBRs and 30,000 Off-The-Road tires annually. In 2018, a landmark agreement between Sailun and American tyre giant Cooper Tyres to manufacture Cooper truck and bus radial tyres in Vietnam. This joint venture now serves as the cornerstone for Sailun's future global tyre development endeavours.

PTPA Seal of Approval

Implementing strict quality standards rewarded Sailun when the brand received the Parent Tested Parent Approved PTPA Seal of Approval for its Sailun Atrezzo and Ice Blazer tyre line ups. PTPA is North America's largest online volunteer parent testing community, with 50,000 parents and over a decade's worth of product reviews. The PTPA Winner's Seal is evidence of a product's excellence from having been evaluated by unbiased parent testers.
